There is a darkness…
A sickness spreading across the land.
I did not understand this until I drove my elder into town the other day. We made our way into the city from his isolated village in Chinook. We took the 200-mile dusty road through the desert into the pollution and noise.
He needed to get some supplies that can’t be obtained locally. Mainly food related items but there was also some furniture on the list. For this reason we stopped at the big general merchandise retailer.
Upon arrival we got out of the car and walked into the store at a slow pace. People raced around us with headphones on, Starbucks coffee, large cans of iced tea and without any awareness of where they were walking, because they were too busy talking to the people they were with.
