A FATHER’S LOVE

It was his job to guide his son.

He was his guardian.

As a father he had to guard, provide, steer and protect, as well as judge. At this point in his son’s life, he was the law; a position that no father should abuse. Just because a man has power…

Doesn’t mean he has to use it.

A lot of the time he watched. He observed. He only served punishment if necessary, which was rarely. His son innately followed his moral compass most of the time, until his attitude started to shift. Something was stirring. A change was brewing. His son started playing basketball at school and he noticed he was getting cocky. His son was genetically gifted, athletic and strong, which had never sent him down the wrong path before but now, he was becoming aware of his power and his ego was starting to inflate.
