A PIG

The boy was disgusted.
He was horrified as he watched the pigs rolling around in their own filth.
Then, when they heard the farmer swishing their sloppy food in a bucket, they trotted to the trough to fill their fat bellies. The boy had never heard anything like it; the pigs oinked, grunted and squealed as they ate. The noise was haunting. The smell was stinking. The greed was unimaginable…
But they were animals after all.
Once full, when there was not a spot of slop left in the trough, the pigs dispersed back to the mud. They flopped down in their own muck, sweat and excrement, rolling around with joy. The boy continued to watch them with curiosity. It was the first time he had seen pigs on his trip with his family to their local farm for the day, and it was safe to say that he had some questions about their behaviour. He asked the farmer:
