The door slammed…
And the boy ran.
He ran as fast as his growing legs would take him. He ran until he could taste iron in his lungs, until the lactic acid in his BODY was burning, until his muscles were cramping…
And then he ran some more.
He didn’t stop running until he made it to the top of a hill he had never set foot on, and there, he opened the rusty gate to a graveyard, hoping that it would be a refuge from his father’s aggression.
