DROWNING

I remember a time in my life when I’d had enough of the world and so…
I rode my horse down from my village in Topanga Canyon.
I looked over the Pacific Ocean and contemplated suicide. I was beyond tired and needed an escape.
I made my way down to the water and let the foam of the waves wash over my feet. Then I waded out into the deep to feel out if this was the end. I guess it would depend on the current of the ocean.
I surrendered to its motion and let it take me wherever it wished. I did not resist the swell because at this point in my life I was so numb.
