The first guy…

He didn’t even try.

He left his boy every day and didn’t think twice. He was nice, he wasn’t a bad man, but his son wasn’t his priority. He provided for his family like a good dude should…

But he was selfish with his time. 

That was fine for his wife; she prioritised a material life. As long as she had money to spend, she was happy. She had grown up with little security in the form of wealth as her family was poor, so now that she had scored a husband who was hard working and made good money, she was content with staying home and taking care of their son in between the lunches, tennis lessons and shopping sprees she frequented.
