A MAN’S WORTH

The steel worker pulled up in his truck.

He felt down on his luck but at least he had his family. They would be happy to see him.

He walked through his front door hoping to feel his wife’s warm embrace and to see the joyful glint in his children’s eyes…

But he was surprised to find nobody.

He wearily took off his boots and walked into the kitchen. His children were sitting on iPads watching YouTube and his wife was on the phone to somebody. Nobody acknowledged his presence until he tenderly kissed his son and daughter on the forehead and waved at his wife.
