A WISE KING

A poor boy was taken before the king.

He had been caught stealing in the marketplace of the town square.

The boy sat there and awaited his punishment as the noble king looked at him. He was scrawny and thin so the stone floor felt cold and uncomfortable on his backside.

Suddenly the king sighed. Then he asked his knights to unshackle the boy and pick him up from the uninviting stone floor. Once they had completed the command the king asked the boy to walk over to his throne so he could get a better look at him.

The boy timidly walked over to the throne and bowed his head.
